Stewardship Opportunities

Liturgy/Worship

  • Rosary Leader
  • Altar Server - At Holy Name our youth may become altar servers during third grade and continue to serve indefinitely.  They are asked to come 10 minutes early to prepare to serve for the celebration
  • Lector - The Lector proclaims the word of God during Mass by reading the Scriptures before the Gospel.  This person also leads the parishioners in the Prayers of the Faithful.
  • Offertory - A Family or Ministry agrees, to bring up the offertory gifts used during Holy Communion.  Just before the petitions you gather in the back of the church where you pick up the Offertory Gifts: bread, wine, and the collection, and you carry the three items and hand them to Father at the steps to the Sanctuary. Carrying the gifts is a very honorable and essential part of the Mass.
  • Pianist/Organist/Choir - You do not need to be a professional musician, just have a love to serve our Lord.  We practice one hour each week, usually on Wednesdays beginning at 5:30, though we can set that time according to the group’s needs. Please share your talents the Lord has given you.
  • Ushers - Two will greet people before mass. Four are needed to pick up the collection and then if there is no one present to take the offering to Father, two ushers will do that.  Ushers hand out bulletins after mass (2 at back door, one at each side door); Two will go up after mass and put offering in bag and take to sister; You serve for a month at a time, usually 2 to 3 times a year

  • Straighten books in pews after Mass
